Cherokee County is located in Georgia, approximately 25 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The county is part of the Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Marietta, Georgia Metropolitan Statistical Area. Cherokee County was formed in 1830 from lands previously held by the Cherokee Indians and it’s 6,900 square miles were subsequently divided into 24 other counties.
The American Business Chronicle named Cherokee as one of the counties with the greatest potential for growth in America. Cherokee County is also very conscientious about protecting the area’s natural resources, scenic vistas and comfortable residential lifestyle.
